So, when’s it opening?
It’s official: March 2016.
For over three years, the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization, has been actively fundraising to raise capital dollars for the new Downtown YMCA to be located inside the Galleria at Erieview.
Parker Hannifin committed an initial $1 million to the project, securing naming rights, and later followed with another $2 million gift. Several major donors and organizations have also generously contributed to the project, including: Kent H. Smith Charitable Trust, The George Gund Foundation, The Cleveland Foundation, Eaton, HealthSpan, Lubrizol, Oatey Company, Applied Industrial Technologies, Lincoln Electric, RPM International Inc., Richard W. and Patricia R. Pogue, and Clark L. Fitzgibbons.
There is still time to make a donation to the project and be listed on the donor wall in the lobby.
Construction is currently underway and the facility is starting to take shape. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to view photos and for the most recent updates.
